FEATURED COURSE-MICE Conference and Exhibition

The course development of this department builds on the objectives, characteristics, and framework of departmental development, with a focus on the expertise development in tourism, travel, and leisure recreation. According to statistics from the Bureau of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, our country has actively developed the convention and exhibition (MICE) industry in recent years, generating an annual output value of over NT$100 billion. Due to the rapid development of Taiwan’s MICE industry and its promising prospects linked to the tourism industry, this department has specially designed a “Conference and Exhibition” professional course to provide students with professional knowledge and skills in the MICE industry, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of our students in the job market upon graduation.

Emphasis on both theory and practice: The teaching method of the “Conference and Exhibition” professional course in this department places equal emphasis on theory and practice, aiming to enable students to not only grasp relevant knowledge of the MICE industry but also possess practical operational capabilities. The course will introduce the development history, current status, and trends of the MICE industry, as well as management issues related to MICE planning, marketing, and operations. The course content will be based on the latest research findings and combined with the practical experience of the instructors to provide students with the most comprehensive knowledge of the MICE industry. For practical teaching, students will be arranged to visit MICE venues, organizers, and service providers, and participate in actual MICE events, giving them the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and accumulate practical experience.

Course coverage: The “Introduction to MICE” professional course aims to cultivate students with the professional knowledge and skills necessary to engage in the MICE industry. “MICE Industry Practice,” which adopts a teaching method that emphasizes both theory and practice, offers a diverse and rich course content. This allows students to not only solidify their theoretical foundation but also accumulate practical experience, smoothly entering related industries after graduation.
